Penta Prism Magazine
Founded, edited, managed and designed student enterprise, Penta Prism Magazine for print and online in 2014. I realised there was a gap in the magazine market at Solent University where BA Photography course didn't have a course magazine to sell. Formed a small team of editors where I managed the development and concept of the magazine and it's aims which I later pitched to course leaders for funding the magazine out of the course budget. Managing the magazine meant making a profitable enterprise. We were given the green light to have a first run of 200 copies printed which was launched in Feb 2014. This was a great way to help raise funds for the BA Photography degree show and showcase students’ work to a wider audience. As creative director for the project, developed the branding which included designing the logo and magazine layout. Additionally I managed a small team marketing assistants for the exhibition and magazine launch. I also led the marketing campaign, firstly for submissions from photographers and to students, alumni, staff and family/friends to attend the event to help fundraise.
It is successfully running into its fourth year at Southampton Solent University. I was awarded the IT Graduate Prize presented by the Vice-Chancellor at Southampton Solent University for my contribution to BA Photography course for starting this magazine. |
